Despite a traumatic experience at a young age, Bolokang Mosola dreams of one day winning a medal at the Paralympics to show his community that anything is possible through hard work, living by his motto: “Don’t ever give up, just keep it moving!”

Bolokang was shot as a baby, resulting in a left hemiplegic disability. Refusing to let his disability define him, Bolokang, now 25 years old and a client at the Drakenstein Association for People with Disabilities (DAPD), thrives in an environment where he can develop his skills. At DAPD’s Protective Workshop, clients are equipped with practical skills they can use in a working environment. Through partnerships with local businesses, clients in the Protective Workshop gain exposure to real-life working situations and a few have even secured permanent employment.

True to his hardworking and passionate nature, Bolokang contributes wherever he can, bringing invaluable energy to DAPD. He often mows the lawn, helping to keep the garden beautiful and clean. The staff at DAPD have expressed their gratitude for having Bolokang as part of their DAPD family.

Stories like Bolokang’s genuinely inspire us. We are proud to support DAPD, a beneficiary of the Val de Vie Foundation, in its mission to strive for a better and more inclusive life for all.
