Two young people from the Franschhoek community have reached an extraordinary milestone.
After two years of dedication, Dillon Samuels and Jason Williams have graduated from ITM College in Austria. They are now the 13th and 14th graduates of the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy and Learning Centre (FHA) to obtain their qualifications in Austria.
FHA is a registered charitable trust, public benefit organisation (PBO) and non-profit organisation (NPO) focused on youth development in disadvantaged communities. Through evening classes led by industry professionals and hands-on experience, the Academy equips young people with the hospitality training and practical skills they need to pursue employment and build a future in which they can thrive.
Dillon and Jason’s journey required them to leave home, adapt to a different country and culture, and embrace new challenges and opportunities. They return not only as graduates but also as young leaders and ambassadors, showing what is possible when talent meets support and opportunity.
Their achievement is significant beyond their individual success. It encourages families, younger learners and other young people in the community who may be beginning to imagine a different future for themselves.
As a valued beneficiary of the Val de Vie Foundation, the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy and Learning Centre continues to make a lasting difference through education, with the Foundation proudly supporting its work and celebrating the pathways it creates from the local community to the wider world.
The Val de Vie Foundation congratulates Dillon and Jason on this remarkable achievement. Their discipline and commitment to excellence are an inspiration and the Foundation wishes them every success as they embark on the next chapter of their journeys.
