About us

For more than a decade, the Val de Vie Foundation has been a catalyst for positive change in the communities surrounding Val de Vie Estate. Through the generosity of residents, donors, partners, and the Val de Vie Development Company, over R55 million has been invested in education, skills development, employment opportunities and community support programmes, impacting more than 90,000 lives across the Paarl-Franschhoek valley.

At the heart of the Foundation is the belief that lasting change happens when people are given opportunities to thrive. By investing in potential, supporting local organisations and creating pathways to education and employment, the Foundation is helping to build stronger communities and a brighter future for generations to come.

As we look ahead to the next decade, the opportunity to make an even greater difference belongs to all of us. Whether you share our story, volunteer your expertise, mentor a young person, join a resident tour, or make a donation, your involvement can help transform lives and expand the Foundation’s impact.

Together, we can do more than support change. We can create it. Join us in shaping a future where opportunity, dignity and hope extend far beyond the gates of our Estate.

“The traditional charity funding model needs transformation. In order to be sustainable, charities need long-term annuity income streams to reinvest in local communities. The Val de Vie model is to offer market related investments to the wealthy and thereby bring the wealthy and the less privileged together in one community where the one thrives with the other. The Val de Vie Foundation model will continue to support the needy in the community and offer real employment for those equipped with the skills to support the Estate.” – Founder, Martin Venter
