The best Christmas market – This year’s Christmas Market at Val de Vie Evergreen was an undeniable success. Organised by the kind and generous Val de Vie Evergreen Christmas Market Committee, led by Angela Parr and Linda Slabber, close to R50,000 was raised for their beneficiary, Rusthof Old Age Home in Paarl East.
The team is now pouring over a Rusthof Christmas wish list, which includes items ranging from steel beds to bedding and toiletries. Whatever they decide, it will be truly transformational for the 104 residents.
The Val de Vie Foundation is honoured to work with the Val de Vie Evergreen residents to improve the quality of life for our impoverished elderly. Since meeting Rusthof management and touring the facilities, the Val de Vie Evergreeners have donated gently used goods from their own homes.
Visitors to the Christmas market commented on the fantastic range of quality handmade items available. They also enjoyed meeting Father Christmas, trying their luck at the tombola stall and purchasing delicious home-baked goods.
We look forward to Christmas 2025, when the market will move to the highly anticipated new Val de Vie Evergreen clubhouse and lifestyle centre. Spanning 1,500m² and offering a variety of wellness and lifestyle amenities, the new venue promises to deliver a Christmas market that dreams are made of.
