“Unbroken – The Musical” is a heartfelt celebration of hope that reflects Mosaic Community Developments’ 17-year journey of supporting families who care for orphaned and vulnerable children. Launched in Cape Town in September 2025 and professionally produced by Brenda Myburgh, the musical brings Mosaic’s mission to life through compelling music, storytelling and performances by children whose lives have been changed by care and opportunity.

The production features ten talented young performers from Mosaic alongside the internationally acclaimed Tygerberg Children’s Choir, powerfully demonstrating that every child’s story can be rewritten when someone chooses to believe in them. Through song and movement, “Unbroken” embodies Mosaic’s vision that every child deserves a safe, nurturing family to grow up in.

The musical also opens doors for global connection, with plans to tour Germany and the Netherlands in March 2026. These international performances will share South Africa’s inspiring story of resilience and faith with audiences across Europe, inviting supporters to join a movement that turns brokenness into belonging, family by family, child by child, song by song.

Mosaic Community Developments, a beneficiary of the Val de Vie Foundation, is a pioneering nonprofit organisation dedicated to transforming orphan care across South Africa. With a sustainable, holistic model, they provide vulnerable children and their caregivers with educational, emotional, spiritual and physical support, all while avoiding dependency. Mosaic operates in multiple locations, including Paarl Valley and supports hundreds of children through programmes that include after-school activities, talent development, job creation, housing and ongoing family support.

“Unbroken – The Musical” exemplifies how Mosaic uses creativity and community to give children a voice and a future filled with hope. It captures the organisation’s commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children grow up in loving families and thrive within their communities.
