Resident Helen Prozesky, a recent empty nester with newfound time, connected with Lorraine Hadfield from the Val de Vie Foundation. Through this connection, she was introduced to NorSA, an organisation which distributes weekly vegetable donations from the Wellness Farm on Val de Vie Estate to drug-resistant TB patients in Drakenstein. Leveraging her 30 years of experience as a qualified dietician, Helen volunteers two days a week with NorSA. Her extensive background in NGOs supporting TB and HIV patients, along with her time in TB care in Wynberg and Ikamva la Bantu, and an infectious disease clinic at TC Newman in Paarl, makes her an invaluable asset to NorSA, where she now volunteers across all their projects.

“I have always been passionate about using nutrition to help people better their lives. It is so fulfilling to use my expertise to make a difference to those suffering under the burden of TB, HIV and poverty. NorSA does incredible work, and I feel honoured to work with them.” – Helen Prozesky
