After a powerful debut in Cape Town in September 2025, Mosaic Community Developments’ Unbroken musical returns to the global stage, this time bringing its message of resilience and hope to Europe.
Unbroken, met with standing ovations and deeply moved audiences, brings together the internationally acclaimed Tygerberg Children’s Choir and ten brave children from the Mosaic programme, a beneficiary of the Val de Vie Foundation. These young performers, each having faced significant loss and adversity, share their stories through a touching combination of song, dance, and storytelling. Their voices create a powerful narrative that speaks of resilience, hope, and the life-changing impact of belief and support.
More than a performance, Unbroken highlights a pressing reality: over 2.8 million orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa. However, instead of focusing solely on hardship, the production celebrates the strength within each child and the remarkable outcomes that can occur when they are given the opportunity to thrive.

In March and April 2026, this inspiring production begins its European tour, with performances planned across Germany and the Netherlands. The tour acts as a global platform to amplify the voices of children who refuse to be defined by their past, reminding audiences everywhere that no child’s story is beyond hope.
The impact of Unbroken reaches well beyond the stage. During a recent Val de Vie Foundation Community Tour, one of the most touching moments occurred when a German “snowbird” resident, Monika Tomcala, deeply moved by the children’s stories, offered to sponsor warm clothing for ten children travelling abroad. This generous act ensures that the young performers are not only prepared for their tour but also reminded that their journeys are recognised and supported.
As Unbroken continues to inspire audiences worldwide, it stands as a testament to the strength of community, compassion and the unwavering belief that every child deserves a hopeful future.
