The Val de Vie Foundation was delighted to be able to spread true Christmas cheer to thirty long-term Paarl Hospital Pediatric patients and their mothers on December 7. The team from Rembrandt Mall, Moms and Tots Playfactory and Zebro’s generously donated their time and venue to make it a memorable day.
Christmas decorations were made for the tree, the children had lots of fun at the Playfactory and their faces were painted by Salt and Light. Entertainment by the Psychedelic theatre followed with a lip-smacking chicken lunch for the 60 patients and their dedicated mums donated by Zebro’s.
The highlight of the day was the arrival of Father Christmas all the way from the North Pole on his custom-fitted golf cart. He drove in with specially selected presents for the boys and girls.
After all, joined in to sing Christmas carols, and the children left holding their presents, Christmas decorations and cookies, with the biggest smiles on their faces from an adventurous day. But the real happiness was on the volunteers’ faces, knowing they had never known such happiness.
