Cintron Pink Polo launched at Val de Vie Estate in Cape Town in 2010 as the brainchild of a dynamic and passionate group of women standing in unity to create a vocal platform for breast cancer awareness in our nation. Now in its 9th year, the purpose behind the polo event will continue to pay tribute to the survivors of breast cancer and serve as a platform to raise awareness for a disease that is most prevalent in women, but also affects a high number of men.
On the 4th of August, three hundred ladies from the Paarl East community enjoyed a special day filled with inspirational speakers, sweet treats and coffee while sharing testimonies of triumphant cancer healing cases. Rolene Strauss, former Miss World 2014 and Val de Vie resident was amongst the speakers of the day and addressed the ladies from the heart as a woman and also a medical doctor
On the day the Cintron Pink Polo Presented by Vodacom made a financial contribution to five ladies currently fighting cancer and urgently requiring chemotherapy.
At this event, guests had the opportunity to go for a complimentary breast screening. In addition, Val de Vie Estate residents and resident employees were also able to book a complimentary screening on the day in association with Pink Drive. Amongst all these women making use of the opportunity to get tested, no breast cancer was detected.
Thirty breast cancer survivors from Craig’s Angels are also invited to attend the 2018 Cintron Pink Polo Presented by Vodacom taking place on the 3rd of November 2018 at Val de Vie Estate.

The Val de Vie Foundation was founded in 2015 based on a strong focus on giving back to the larger community to help create a better life for all. The development company, Val de Vie Investments (Pty) Ltd, has committed 1% of all developer sales income to the Foundation. All of the new Home Owners’ Associations allocate 5% of levy income from new developments to the Foundation. In less than three years, more than R8 million has been allocated to the Val de Vie Foundation to support numerous viable community projects in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley. Through its implementation partner Valcare – who is responsible for the intervention, project identification, monitoring and evaluation – the Val de Vie Foundation supports close to forty organisations in the Valley.
