THE CLOTHING BANK BACK TO SCHOOL MARKET

THE CLOTHING BANK BACK TO SCHOOL MARKET

On Thursday December 6th, 30 very excited The Clothing Bank entrepreneurs posed for selfies with their Fleet cappuccinos in the Val de Vie Boardroom. And then it was onto the hard work of professionally setting up their colourful clothing stalls in time to welcome Estate residents and employees.

The Clothing Bank initiative strives to empower unemployed South Africans to become financially and socially independent, by supporting and nurturing them to start sustainable businesses.  Unemployed mothers (exclusively) their two-year training programme and very quickly start their small business by trading (mainly in the informal sector) in the clothing they buy from The Clothing Bank at discounted prices.

At the Val de Vie Back to School The Clothing Bank Market, shoppers remarked on the incredible value for money items, securing new school shorts and shirts for only R40 each. There was also lots of fun to be had with the enterprising The Clothing Bank entrepreneurs nostalgically dressing up in school uniform. The Foundation is thrilled to be able to support those who work on our Estate, always mindful at this time of the year that charity truly begins at home.
